Fu Wa and Feng Yi left Dujiangyan panda base on Tuesday, 20 May 2014. Articles featuring photos and videos of their departure have been published. I was there, and these are some of the photos from my “farewell” collection.

The backdrop featuring a pair of batik-clad Fu Wa and Feng Yi

Their transport to Chengdu Shuangliu Airport had the same design

Their transport carriers, while sharing the same design, also indicated who’s who inside

Their inflight menu items

Feng Yi was the first to be “crated” and, after some hesitation, she went in and
later settled down to some snacking

Fu Wa taking a peek at what awaited him inside his crate

Feng Yi’s crate being hoisted up to the truck’s interior

Not far behind, Fu Wa says “Wait for me, I’m coming!”

Both crates inside the truck, and later belted up for a safe ride
